NO BROADCAST, formerly Anthesiac, move post rock, alt rock, punk and noise into a bracing powerhouse of sound which is surpassed only by experiencing then live and in the flesh.

Established in Christchurch, New Zealand in 2007, these three chaps have formed a strong musical chemistry that is increasingly unique in bands today. Priding themselves on their ability to instinctively move their music where it wants to go, the group are a volatile live act audiences can't take their eyes off.

NO BROADCAST have gigged extensively over the past 5 years, playing various festivals and shows in Christchurch and Dunedin with a variety of local artists. They have played alongside sludge rockers Beastwars, Post Punk heavyweights Die!Die!Die! as well as supporting Mountaineater (former HDU members) and internationally renounced six-piece An Emerald City on the South Island leg of their 2011 New Zealand tour.

Amongst the many gigs, the band released their debut E.P Null and Void in the Spring of 2011. The release was well received in the press and garnered glowing reviews as well as airplay on nationwide radio. The E.P was recorded by singer/guitarist Josh in his garage before being sent to be mixed and mastered by Dunedin’s infamous Dale Cotton. The CD sleeves for the E.P were all handmade and printed by the band themselves giving the overall package a handcrafted, DIY appeal.

In 2012 the band began work on a body of work which would later become their self-titled and full length. For the new material the band decided to change the name to No Broadcast, a title of a piece from the last record. 2013 the band kept behind the scenes but the name did make it overseas as guitars/vocalist Josh Braden went over to the UK to try and get the music heard though playing a number of shows in London and Bristol. Also a bunch of b side recordings were released online under the title 1736.

“Some acts take upwards of half a dozen releases to get this degree of cohesiveness in their music. Anthesiac appear to have circumvented the system and started at the top of their game. Null And Void is an excellent document of one of our country’s brightest upcoming acts still in their early years.” - By Ricardo Kerr

No Broadcast have just released their self titled debut album and are going on tour to promote it across NZ.
